Bungalow Seaview Paradise village

Positive: The view from that high up on the mountain was amazing. The space was cozy. There were 2 air conditioning units which kept the space comfortable. The service person assigned to my bungalow was really pleasant and was pretty good at responding to my general inquiries. Negative: There is no lobby or gate house for someone to check-in. I had to just have the taxi pull up into a driveway and just start wandering around until someone felt uncomfortable with us looking into their dwelling. After I was shown my bungalow, I was told that I would have to pay for the electricity. That was NOT in the property description when I booked! When I checked out after 10 days, the electricity cost was 1040 Baht, which was around $31 USD at the time. I only pay an average of $50 USD p/MONTH at home for my electricity bill. The gas for the stove wasn't turned on until the 5th day of my stay. The taxi company they referred me to was "Yankee". The rate kept changing (increasing) and wasn't always reliable even though I went to the same place at the same time each day. Also, the only vehicles that could make it up the mountain had to have 4-wheel drive or off-road capabilities. So if there were no taxis with that, I had to wait longer. It appeared that moped taxis were available but I chose an enclosed vehicle. The road incline was at times steeper than 45 degrees. Lastly, I pre-booked and paid for airport transportation to and from the venue as well as a personal massage. They admittedly never checked the booking app. I had to call and pay for a taxi to the venue when I arrived on the island and the staff person I was in contact with worked out a credit with the taxi for future service. They never booked the massage. I am still waiting on my refund which I was promised and have been waiting for for almost 5 weeks now. Maybe there is a way to go through Booking.com to get my refund since it is their booking app that the add-ons were offered. We'll see. I'm hopeful.
